Debra Haaland is a Democratic former U.S. Secretary of the Interior, serving in the Biden administration from 2021 to 2025 as the first Native American Cabinet secretary in U.S. history. She previously represented New Mexico's 1st Congressional District (2019–2021). An enrolled member of the Pueblo of Laguna, she launched her gubernatorial campaign in 2025.
