Mike Duggan is the Mayor of Detroit, first elected in 2013 as a write-in candidate after being kicked off the ballot, and reelected in 2017 and 2021. A former Wayne County prosecutor and CEO of the Detroit Medical Center, he announced in 2024 that he would run for governor as an independent rather than seek the Democratic nomination.
