Shenna Bellows is the Democratic Secretary of State of Maine, elected by the Maine Legislature to that office in 2020. A former state senator and former executive director of the ACLU of Maine, she drew national attention in 2023 when she ruled Donald Trump ineligible for Maine's 2024 primary ballot under the 14th Amendment, a decision later effectively overturned by the U.S. Supreme Court.
